During the 1970's, in London, England, I learned the art of
crystal chandelier and lamp restoration from a superlative
craftsman named David Malik.
He established his lighting business in the 1950's specializing
in restoring antique crystal chandeliers, using traditional
pinning of crystals and other skills which are rarely seen today.
He later became the first person in the United Kingdom
to use Swarovski crystal in his production of
contemporary
lighting fixtures, supplying all the major department stores
in the country. David Malik's showroom was located on
Kensington Church Street, the most prestigious antique
street in London, and his reputation gained him
commissions from around the world.
I am honored to have had such a mentor in my life
and I carry his expertise, skills, and knowledge,
particularly his attention to detail.
